MCP Publications server

What is it?

The Publications server gives you access to IMPC-related research papers. It uses semantic search, which means it understands the meaning behind your question — not just exact keyword matches. For example, searching for “heart defects” will also find papers about “cardiac abnormalities”.

What can you do with it?

  • Search by topic: Find papers about a specific gene, phenotype, disease, or research area
  • Search by date: Find papers published in a specific year, month, or date range
  • Search by author: Find papers by a particular researcher
  • Get database statistics: See how many publications are in the database

Example questions you can ask

  • “Find publications about Bmp4 in IMPC.”
  • “What papers were published by IMPC in 2024?”
  • “Are there any IMPC publications about hearing loss?”
  • “Find papers related to metabolic disorders and mouse models.”
  • “How many publications are in the IMPC database?”
  • “Show me recent papers about essential genes.”
  • “Find publications about CRISPR and mouse phenotyping.”
  • “What IMPC papers discuss cardiovascular phenotypes?”

What to expect in responses

You will get publication details including title, authors, journal, publication date, DOI, abstract, and related gene/allele information. Results are ranked by relevance to your search query.
