Body Surface Temperature HMGULA_BST_001

Jump to:

Purpose

Overall indicator marker of animal health (changes in temperature correlate with severity of disease in many murine models).

Experimental Design

  • Minimum number of animals :  7M +7F
  • Age at test:Week 73
  • Sex: We do not expect the results of this test to show sexual dimorphism.

Procedure

  1. The respective mouse is identified via the ear tag.
  2. The mouse is isolated and 3 images per mouse are taken (using Infrared thermography (IRT), high resolution A655sc FLIR infrared camera) as soon as the eyes are visible, and their four feet are on the floor.
  3. The average of the whole body surface temperature and the maximum temperature (at the eyes) are used to evaluate the phenotype.

Notes

passive, remote, and non invasive method
