IMPReSS contains standardized phenotyping protocols – experiments that are done with mice to identify variations in appearance, function or behaviour. IMPReSS holds a number of Pipelines with the new IMPC Pipeline containing core Procedures (experiments) that will be done at all research centers which join the IMPC consortium. IMPReSS also contains Pipelines from the old EMPReSS project but these are deprecated and the IMPC Pipeline should be used going forward.

Each Pipeline in IMPReSS contains a number of Procedures and for each Procedure there is a list of the Parameters (measurements) obtained during the experiment and a Protocol document (SOP) explaining how the experiment should be carried out.

No experimental data is obtainable from IMPReSS nor should such data be sent to IMPReSS. The website holds only standardized definitions of experiments.
