IMPC presentations at the European Society of Human Genetics, Promoting the International Exchange of Mouse Mutant Resources, Experimental Biology 2014 (June 1st, 2014)
As IMPC efforts ramp up for the production and characterization of knockout mouse strain for every protein coding gene, a number of presentations featuring IMPC activities were featured at international meetings. Damain Smedley of the Wellcome Trust Institute and Terry Meehan of EMBL-EBI gave back-to-back presentations at the European Society of Human Genetics in Milan, Italy, on May 31st that demonstrated how the IMPC is generating new gene-phenotype associations that can be used to rank human disease variant candidates. At the "Promoting the International Exchange of Mouse Mutant Resources" meeting in Munich on May 8-9th, many IMPC members discussed how to simplify the international exchange of mouse mutant resources and review the key issues facing the mouse community. Finally, a booth promoting the NIH-funded KOMP2 portion of IMPC along with the KOMP repository was showcased at the Experimental Biology 2014 April 26-30th in San Diego, CA.
